The previous entry discussed affirmation and vision boards, and while everything written stands true, I want to make an addendum if you have time to listen to my story:
“Be careful what you wish for.“
The reason for this is that the universe does not hear tone. It does not understand if the desire you are requesting is positive or negative therefore “choose your words wisely.” (author unknown)

It’s Time for a Story
It’s time to tell you a little story of my lovely little rav 4 car that I am incredibly grateful for.
I had been desiring my lovely car for quite some time and that was what I was asking from the universe. I didn’t mind the colour, I didn’t mind the year as long as it was in the last decade. All I wanted was for it to be sound in the engine and no problem that was expensive to fix.
Now near the start of this year I got my lovely car that I really enjoy. But how I got there was a rollercoaster ride of emotion and stress.
In May 2023 I had a car accident and my little corsa was completely written off. Thankfully neither my son, myself or the other driver was seriously hurt. Other than being a little shook up at the time – and having a bit of a stiff shoulder for a couple of days afterwards, we were all OK.
Ironically, around that time, I was intensely affirming how much I wanted my desired car. After returning from abroad, I’d been expressing my need for a change. Something more reliable, a well-built car that would protect my son in case of an emergency. Like I said ironic,
Now in this case it was the other driver’s fault so there was nothing to shell out on my end. The universe was still helping throughout that time and I’m eternally grateful. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a car for six months while going through the joy of insurance claims, but eventually, several months later, I got the money for my dream car. If it had happened at a different pace, perhaps my perfect car wouldn’t have been available.
Let Us Manifest Harmlessly
But, if I added one little addendum to my affirmation at that time, perhaps (not guaranteed) the whole accident may have been avoided, and I would be telling you a different story.
See, now I am older (forever 21) and wiser, to any goal or desire, I now add one little sentence;
“for my highest and best good with no harm to no one”
And, while this sentence may be a grammatical nightmare ‘best good’ it lets the universe know that in order to achieve this goal, the right opportunities need to come in the right set of circumstances.
Let’s give a hypothetical scenario. You desire more time with your family, to see the children as they grow, and not be so bogged down with being at work, or being home but focused on work. So you say or manifest;
“I want more time with my children.”
Seemingly a simple request, but now the universe has several routes it can go down to achieve this and, as I said before, the universe does not hear tone.
Scenario number 1.
Worst case. You or someone you love falls ill. It’s not how you wanted things to happen, and not what you expected to manifest into your life, but the universe has given more time at home. It has fulfilled the request.
Scenario number 2.
You add a positive addendum to your original desire – I will use mine for the sake of this article:
“I want more time with my children and family, for our highest and best good, with no harm to no one.”
The universe now has to find a way to give you that desire without it having a negative consequence. Perhaps your company is opening a new branch closer to home and it cuts your traveling time. Or, maybe a new opportunity arises that allows you to work from home, giving you no commute at all. Or, one of another hundred ways the universe can help.
There are plenty of possibilities that don’t have a negative impact on you or anyone else. Adding a simple little sentence to the end of your desire, ensures it’s put out into the universe in a positive manner.
Let Us Be Mindful
It’s always important to consider how you ask for things.
In the world of contradictions you have to be detailed and yet vague in how you go about it. Not an easy feat I know and although I’ve been learning for years, I still discover new ways every day.
Be detailed about what you want, but avoid specifying how you’ll get it. Doing so can limit the universe’s ability to help you, as there are energies working behind the scenes in ways we can’t fully understand.
Passion and desire are great tools, but, to dwell on them too long makes the fruition that much harder to come by.
Think of it, then let it go.
